Our policies regarding cancellations and delays:
St. Luke’s UM Church will almost always have worship services on Sundays. City streets tend to be plowed, even in severe weather, and we have contracted snow removal service for the parking lot.
The only times Sunday services would be cancelled would be for ice, or if there is a declared snow emergency by the city of Kokomo. The decision to cancel services will be made by 7:00 am, and we will announce the closing as listed below.
As a general rule through the week, if Kokomo Schools are closed or delayed, then St. Luke’s activities would be cancelled or delayed.
To get specific information about closings or delays you can do one of the following:
1. Call the Church (453-0555) – a message will be recorded on the Church’s voicemail.
2.
Log on to the church web site – information will be posted on the home page at www.stlukesumc.net
3. Listen to the following radio and/or TV stations:
- WIOU Kokomo 1350 AM and WZWZ Kokomo 92.5 FM
- WWKI Kokomo 100.5 FM – list posted to wwki.com
- WTHR TV Indianapolis (NBC) – Channel 13 (Cable 12) – list also available on www.wthr.com (click the link for Closings and Delays)
- WLFI TV channel 18 Lafayette (cable 8)
In the event that a state of emergency is declared in Howard County or the City of Kokomo, the Church will be closed.
